When you’re trying to learn to read and write a foreign language that doesn’t use the same alphabet that we do, how do you translate the symbols into English words. For example if $%*# is translated over in that language to the word "belian", how do I then know what "belian" means in English? Also how do I take an English word like "Duck" and translate it over into another language so that they woudl be able to understand it. I’m actually trying to learn to read and write Amharic. I just don’t have the fonts to show any examples in here.

Amharic is actually quite infamous as a very difficult language to read. I would recommend learning to read it as best you can (I can provide you with a good chart that I’ve used for Amharic transliterations in the past: http://www.omniglot.com/writing/ethiopic.htm), because finding an extensive dictionary that includes Latin transliterations of Amharic words will be very difficult.

Now, do you understand how Ge’ez script works? Each letter stands for a combination of a consonant and a vowel, so, for example, one letter might be transliterated as two or three when going from Ge’ez to English, whereas a single English letter could not be transliterated into Ge’ez, only combinations of letters that are compatible with the Amharic form of Ge’ez script.

I want to translate for the Indiana courts. There is a test that I need to take in order to do this, but I’m not sure how to take that test. Does anyone know how I can take this test or what I need to do so I can find out more information on translating? I have called the courts and have not been able to get an answer. I would also love information on translating from home, documents and things like that in Spanish/English. Thanks in advance!

I recently got Monster Hunters Portable 2 G in Japan and it’s awesome. I was just wondering if I could some how translate it to English.

I’ve tried going into Options but that doesn’t work. I have Monster Hunters Freedom Unite (I bought in America) and if i go into Options then i can change the language.

How can I translate a Japanese Monster Hunters Portable 2 G to English?

->I have 2 suggestions if what you said about it having nothing on the Options:

1. Study Japanese. Yeah, I know it’s hard but there’s an easier way but costs more.

2. Buy the english version. There’s just simply no way that you just pop some application in your PSP and instantly translate everything to english… So, that’s it…

Sorry but I just can’t see any other way. And if you plan on buying a new one, try selling it on some site or something like that.

It sounds like you’re looking for music notation software. One company with a wide range of programs that cover a full range of needs is Finale (www.finalemusic.com).

The most basic that allows the type of entry you describe is Finale’s Songwriter (http://www.finalemusic.com/songwriter/ ). It costs about $50 and has a 30-day free demo version available for download so you can be sure it does what you want. It will also let you do basic editing. If you want more advanced features, you can upgrade to their other products (their flagship software can do full orchestral scores).

To do this, you need to have a USB port or a MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) out port on your keyboard. If your keyboard has MIDI out but not USB, you will need a MIDI interface to connect to your computer through its USB port.

There are a wide range of MIDI interfaces available (M-Audio and Edirol, among others, make simple MIDI interfaces for about $40 that work on Macs or Windows PCs). These can be bought from a variety of vendors, including Musician’s Friend and American Musical Supply, two major web stores.

You’ll be good to go for under $100… (When I started composing 15 years ago, this would have been mind-bogglingly inexpensive.) Hope this helps, happy music making!

Honestly, you just can’t. If you do it’ll sound like garbage. Your best bet is to post something here, and hope someone will be nice enough to translate it for you. I would say that’s you best chance.
