Why the does …
Why the does everybody want to learn German? It’s a stupid language. It sounds to aggresive and gnawing for anything but heavy metal music.
True, Rammstein makes excelent use of it, but to learn an entire language just for that purpose…?
I’m Dutch, I learned German in school, so I understand most of it and I must admit, I’m glad I know what they’re singing about. I just don’t think it’s worth learning German from scratch for.

Danke sehr. Anyway, I hope I didn’t butcher the german language too badly.

As long as you’re …
.
As long as you’re not pretending like you know german because you’ve heard rammstein, that’s fine. My friend doesn’t even understand Du Hast and he pretends like he does >_>; It’s really annoying that way. I’m sure I turn out annoying when I’m around actual germans too…but just please don’t pretend like you can translate a song when you’ve just memorized the english lyrics…that really es me off
August 16th, 2009 at 10:13 am
you know I also …
you know I also going to start learning german so i can understand the beautiful lyrics of rammstein better,

Hmm… in reply to …
Hmm… in reply to that, and please don’t yell at me, Rammstein IS how I know most of the German I know… “Sonne” taught me how to count to ten.
Still, I can see why that’s annoying to you. I am trying to learn German, myself… it’s not goin’ too well, but it will never kill you if you try, eh?
I can’t exactly have a full blown conversation, but can say simple stuff like ‘Hello, I am Jack.’ Basic like that.
Thank god for online translators, though.

Well I think we all …
Well I think we all did it at one point rofl, I can admit to pretending to translate “Du Hast” because I memorized the english translation >_> but that was at least 6 months ago; I’ve since heavily studied German and I can hold a lively conversation with someone in German (depending on what we’re talking about), so I think I’ve backed myself up lol.
